News: Firefly Server Cluster Maintenance (21–28 February 2026)
We would like to inform clients that we will be performing scheduled infrastructure upgrades on our Firefly server cluster between 21 February 2026 and 28 February 2026.
This maintenance only affects clients whose websites or VPS services are hosted directly with NivaCity on the Firefly cluster
If your website is hosted with another provider, or if you are only using services such as Cloudflare while hosting elsewhere, you are not affected by this announcement.
What Is Happening?
During this maintenance window, hosting accounts within the Firefly cluster will be migrated to upgraded hardware to improve performance, stability, and long-term reliability.
Why a Maintenance Window?
Instead of performing a bulk migration on a single date, we have chosen to implement a maintenance window. The Firefly cluster hosts a significant number of websites and services, and this structured approach allows us to:
- Migrate accounts in a controlled and systematic manner
- Provide individualized attention to each hosting account
- Monitor and test websites after migration
- Reduce the risk of service disruption
This ensures a smoother and more carefully managed transition.
Expected Downtime
For standard hosting configurations using our default nameservers:
- ns5.mydata.city
- ns6.mydata.city
We are not expecting downtime, and no action is required.
Temporary disruption may only occur if your website or application uses:
- Custom server configurations
- Custom A records
- External DNS providers (e.g., Cloudflare or private DNS services)
- Whitelabelled/custom nameservers
If your DNS is managed externally but your website is hosted with NivaCity, we recommend contacting our support team so we can coordinate a controlled migration.
VPS Clients
Only VPS servers within the Firefly cluster will be migrated during this maintenance window.
Affected VPS clients will be contacted individually with specific details.
All other servers and hosting environments not mentioned here remain unaffected and will continue operating normally.
